Writers Jam

The editor uses Markdown for formatting. You may have used it before in messaging apps and not known it. Don't worry if you haven't though, you'll pick it up in no time! You can also paste directly from your word processor (Google Docs/Microsoft Word etc) and it gets converted automatically. A live preview is available at all times below the editor! Check it often.

• Putting a number of #s at the beginning of a line will make a heading.
  Example:

  # My cool heading
  ## My cool second heading
  ### My cool third heading

  Becomes:

  My cool heading

  My cool second heading

  My cool third heading
• To add a soft break (Shift+Enter in Google Docs), end a line with two spaces.

  my first line  
  my second line
  

• To add a paragraph break, simply leave an empty line between paragraphs.
• **Double asterisks** or __underscores__ make bold text.
• *Single asterisks* or _underscores_ make italic text.
• ~~Double tildes~ make strikethrough text.
• To make a bulleted list, begin a line with an asterisk (*).

  * first thing
  * second thing
  * third thing

• To make a block quote, prefix each line of the quote with >.
