Flavours of Love

A cold breezy evening in the month of March in India. A woman walks from her room with an agitated face and mood straight into the kitchen.

She sees empty boxes, unpacked vegetables and fruits on the kitchen top.

With a mindset fixed to eat some good food, she walks up to other bedroom.

After opening the door, she hisses and sighs after looking at the sleeping beauty, enjoying a great wonderful nap for the past 2 hours.

Looking at that sight, she goes nearby and whispers, “Please wake up. It’s dinnertime and I’m starving.”. Then leaves the room with a swift motion, exerting a little more pressure to the bedroom door while closing it.

After joining the kitchen, she asks with a slightly high and hoarse pitch voice. “What do you plan on making today for dinner? I’m extremely tired. I can’t go through the process of cutting, mixing, sautéing, marinating and getting the final dishes ready in the next 30 mins.”

Hearing this, without any argument, food was ready in the next 30 mins as the swiggy partner delivered the roti daal combo (X2) instantly.

Looking at that sight, she initially got angry, her facial expressions changed, she was ready to explode, yet she calmed downed, felt grateful for her food and both of them ate without saying anything to each other.

After having food, they both sat down near the kitchen to stock the groceries in the fridge. As she started stocking the veggies, her partner spoke out saying “I have always admired the fact that women have been taught to cook basic food items from a young age. We always used to play, study hard, explore cities and do many adventurous things from our childhood. Can’t blame my mom on this, even when she insisted to learn, I was way too playful that I didn’t bother about it.

Suddenly, when we jump into relationship, whenever you are able to cook to really quick, pack breakfast and lunch and then leave for work, I feel bad when I sit back at home wondering why I am not able to make a quick and simple poha for breakfast, yet able to solve the company’s multi-million-dollar merger issue within minutes. I’m not able to keep up with it. Would you let me know how I can help you out in this on regular basis so that you don’t have to feel hungry while you are back home?”

Hearing this, she looked at him, her eyes with raging gaze became softer and mellow. A roll of tear rolled down her eye. She chuckled, laughed for some time and said “First, stock these veggies in the fridge, panda :) ”

				The End
