While she was searching for something valuable, she found a small dusty box in the attic of her room it was delicate and had a slight glow if seen from a certain angle
She blew the dust and opened the tiny little metal box, there was a rose seed inside of it, heart shaped
It was the girl’s heart; it was always there with her but she just did not know
She softly whispered to the seed- I will keep you safe and happy
She really likes roses
Red roses
She kept it in a pot and grew it inside of her room, safe.
She waters it every day, spoke to it, sang to it
She waits for it to come out of its seed
She waits patiently
One day, she sees a small plant peeking out from the surface of the soil
The pot seemed huge, for the small plant
It was adorable, she was in awe of life, elated, she wanted to plant it outside
But she knew it won’t survive
Other strong plants might consume all the goodness she gives to her plant
Or what if a big ugly rat chews it to pieces
She wanted it to soak in the sunlight
She wanted it to shine under the moonlight
She wanted it to dance in the rain
She wanted it to grow with the jasmines, lilies and the marigold
But she kept it locked in her room, safe again
She gave it all, her attention, her love…
She was astounded after realising that such a beautiful thing has always been with her
She watched it grow beautifully
But it was not happy, it was not blooming, it’s still the small tadpole in the well
She knew, she knew it was time for it to be out, there was anxiety running through her veins instead of blood
She was weirdly excited but somewhere skeptical, she was questioning herself- will it be, ok?????
On the other side she did not want it to die, it wasn't like its dark inside, there was just not enough light
She found an adorable spot outside for it to grow….
It was blooming, the rose, the red rose, it was heart shaped
She felt happiness, she felt the rose smile while having sunbeams and fresh water for breakfast.
And then….
One day she woke up and went to the rose, she deeply felt what she saw, she closed her eyes
And when her eyelids couldn’t bear, she felt tears running out, the same way a river runs after its dam gates are lifted
She saw the rose has turned black,
Her heart has turned black
She had no hope; there were dirty flies around
The petals were dropping one by one, she rushed from the line of sight, not wanting to see the last petal falling off quiet
Leaving only the stain of tear drops on the ground where she was standing, she ran
……………
Silent bunch of days has passed; the girl came out to see the rose plant with a heavy heart or perhaps no heart
The plant was standing strong, even with no petals
Her eyes wide, she spread a faint smile when she saw a big, beautiful butterfly around it
The butterfly has large wings and big eyes, it was kissing on the half dead rose’s cheek (receptacle)
They are in love
There it goes
It bloomed again, red, the heart shaped rose
