beautiful women and my neverending sorrow

swirling pools of warm honey were her eyes, my hands yearning to caress her skin in a way no man ever could.

she sat as a doe would, coyly basking in the sunlight coating her in a glow that not even heaven could fathom

whether it was envy or need i could never discern

i feel for you what eve must've felt when she laid eyes upon Lilith. a deep disdain, a deep longing

a connection that could only be felt between our kind

a pain that could only be shared unspoken between us

you never looked my way

yet my eyes

despite all the noise

remained fixated on you.

the silhouette of your figure in the sun carved into the folds of my hippocampus

your name not known to me

yet already imprinted onto my tongue, a century before we met.
