The Yellow Sponge
A sponge was on the beach, a yellow sponge.
The sand was shining like crystals under the dim light in a dark room, while holding hands, under the moonlight were the rock and pebble beings
The waves were dancing elegantly under the full moon, the sponge fell in love that night, and the waves slowly kissed the sponge goodnight
Soaked by the wave of love, the yellow sponge laid on the corn-colored sand, basking in subtle sunrays in the winter morning.
The sponge was mesmerized by the waves crashing on to the beach
It was filled with love, not enough, it wanted to be consumed by love.
The sponge always waits for the waves to come for it, comfort it.
Every time they kiss, the waves leave the yellow sponge sparkling all over
The yellow sponge was glittery, and happy.
The waves often brought so many presents- a moss hat, a thread necklace, and sometimes shiny metal particles
The yellow sponge adored them all and it carries them all eternally
One day the waves brought the yellow sponge a broken mirror at night, it got so happy and asked the night to take a leave, it waited for the sun to shine, and when the sun did, the yellow sponge was eager to look at the mirror.
When the sun rays hit the mirror, it saw its own reflection
It looked green
It looked black
It looked drained
Confused, consumed, crushed, contaminated; it cried
It cried until there was no love left inside of it, only the scars that the glitter left
That night later, the waves came searching for the yellow sponge
But it was too late
There was no yellow sponge no more
Only the unrecognizable remains that got carried away by the ocean waves.
