"she insisted that I leave you to her, she begged, so I let go. I didn't want to, but she left me no choice. There's not a day that goes without regret. All I wanted was for her to feel at peace and for you to have a mother by your side. She's a dumbass child, she treasures you. I missed you."

"he loathes children, he despises responsibility, all he has ever wanted was to party and go nuts. He sought adventure, sex, shits and giggles. That's not how life works when you have a family at home. We were both young, he partied, and I partook in this tomfoolery."

"Remember? You would fall asleep on my bike on our way home from school. Remember when you would get on tables and dance when I play music? Remember when we made instant noodles late at night when your mother was asleep?"

"Remember? He did not show up on your birthday. Remember when he failed to make it to the hospital when you were dead sick? Remember when he failed to show up to the parent-teacher meeting? All he managed to do was not show up. He's a selfish piece of shit."

"Were things hard without me around?"

"things would've been easier for you if he was around.”

"Tell me, what do you like? Chocolates? Clothes? Name it, you'll have it."

"I got you the lifesized teddy that you've been wanting for ages ! Please don't tell me you stopped liking teddies since last night”

"You should wear nail polish, try to look more presentable.”

“are you aware that nail polish is bad for your nail health? he does not know what he's talking about”

He queried, she stated

She stayed, he did not

He was carefree, she was naive

She pulled me towards her, so did he

Oh dear, get me out of here

It's difficult to read about someone being torn apart having to choose between their parents :( but you have described both perspectives quite well, great piece!
