I don’t think love can truly exist in the virtual world.
The internet connects us, yes —
threads our voices through invisible lines,
lets us see faces framed in blue light.
But love is more than connection.
It’s the way someone looks at you when you’re not speaking,
the weight of silence that feels full instead of empty.
Online, we trade words and emojis,
echoes dressed as affection.
I say I love you
and watch it vanish into a cloud —
words that reach but never touch,
never warm enough to feel real.
I think real love asks for presence —
for the nearness of skin,
for the sync of heartbeats through touch,
a rhythm no signal can send.
Love lives in the spaces
no message can reach,
in the warmth that screens can’t hold,
in the quiet where the world disappears.
and only two people remain —
real, and right there.
Sigh I guess that's why love doesn't work through long distance.
