The sheets are unusually soft today.
There wasn’t much she could remember. As she rubbed her eyes, fragments of the previous night’s events started playing in her head.
The sun is so bright, someone please turn it off.
She was certain they were in the hills, drinking and playing around a bonfire. Her memory had stopped storing much after she was 4 glasses down, embarrassingly lightweight, she thought. Slowly, she started to extend her limbs in one of the juiciest stretches she’d had in a while.
“If you had one chance to time travel to any point in your life, where would you go?” who asked that, it sure was a feminine voice.
She remembered bits and pieces of the conversation, quantum physics, space time something something, nerds, paradoxes.
“I mean, if I travel to the future, I’d just be by myself because I would be gone from the present, no?” this person made some sense
A loud beep scared her out of the mid-sleep trance, and her vision cleared.
what the fuck, were not the first words she was expecting to say for the day. Whatever happened to hello, good morning myself, how am I feeling today?
She sat up on the bed, as if she were electrocuted, looked around the room in disbelief.
This is not the hotel room.
This isn’t my room either. Unless I’ve teleported to some other universe’s version of my life, at least.
Did I get, kidnapped???
“Honey toasts for my honeyyyy~” she heard a very high pitched voice approaching right before the door opened, what a cheesy thing to say
who the hell is that?
“Who are you?” She could barely manage to speak in a stranger’s presence.
“I guess you’re still a little disoriented from the hangover, my love.” This stranger lady, very pretty by the way, suddenly put the back of her hand on her forehead.
“Atleast you’re not down with fever, this time.”
How does she know that? I’m down with fever everytime I’m hungover. strange.
“Okay, have your breakfast, rest up, and then we’re going to the movies, you promised so you’re not allowed to dip this time.”
Is this a joke, are my friends playing a prank on me? How did they convince this pretty lady though?
The pretty lady left the room, and now she was all by herself again. She could not understand a thing, nothing made any sense. She hurriedly got up from the bed to look around the room and found herself in front of the wall sized mirror.
She looked at her reflection in horror, she was old, much older than last night, what did the drink do? was it spiked?
“I don’t get all this quantum physics bullshit, I wish I could just skip to the good part.” was what she’d answered to the time travel question, she remembered a couple months well into her new life.
