The Truth About Love

You know what nobody gets? Love. Real love. Not that fake movie shit. I been watching you since last winter. I saw you drop your gloves outside the cafe and I kept them. They smelled like your hands. And that was the start.

Your place is alot easier to get into than you think. The lock on your window is busted. You push the window down a little and the lock falls down. I sit at your table sometimes when you're at work. Eating your cereal, smelling your pillow, counting your pills which you take every night at 10:15. You always leave 15-20ml of water everytime you take your pills.

There was a girl before you, Lisa. She cried so much at first and got very paranoid. Then she got quiet. Real quiet. I still have her molar in my pocket right now. You'd also be surprised how long hair lasts if you take care of it.

I'm outside right now. Your speakers are too loud.

You're watching that baking show again. I can see your shadow moving past the curtains every few minutes. Full of unsettling fear. You always check the door three times before bed. Like that would stop me.

Tomorrow maybe I'll come in while you're sleeping. Not to hurt you. Not yet. Just to watch your face up close. See how beautiful and pure you look when you dream.

This is love. The real kind. When someone knows you better than you know yourself. When they'll keep pieces of you forever.

You'll understand soon.
